A School Nurse position is available for a summer contract at a school located in East Stroudsburg, PA. This role focuses on providing preventative health services and supporting student wellness during the summer session, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for all students onsite.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and evaluate student illnesses and injuries, providing necessary first aid
- Deliver preventive health services supporting physical, mental, emotional, and social development
- Educate students, parents/guardians, and staff on health-related matters
- Maintain regular communication with students and parents/guardians regarding health concerns
- Implement and document the school health program according to district guidelines
- Promote a safe and healthy environment for student participation in school activities
Qualifications:
- Licensed Professional Nurse (LPN or RN) in Pennsylvania
- Certification as an Educational Specialist from the Pennsylvania Department of Education
- Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Current Red Cross CPR and First Aid Instructor certifications
- 35 years of nursing experience, preferably in pediatrics, school nursing, or related fields
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, sit, and reach as needed
- Effective communication skills including vision, hearing, and speech
- Ability to safely lift or carry 1025 pounds
- Independent mobility throughout school buildings and event locations
Schedule and Location:
- Monday through Thursday, 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM
- Contract position from July 6 to July 30
- Onsite at a school in East Stroudsburg, PA
