Step into a rewarding contract role supporting a vibrant, active 3-year-old student with specialized medical needs. This unique, part-time position allows you to make a significant impact while working only two days each weekMondays and Fridays. Summer employment is available, and renewals for the next school year will be considered.
Primary responsibilities include accompanying the student on van rides before and after school and providing onsite nursing care at a local pre-school. You will ensure a safe, supportive environment for a child with a tracheostomy who uses a ventilator when ill. The student is ambulatory, social, and energetic, requiring someone who is compassionate and attentive. Your knowledge and quick thinking will help sustain the student's health and foster their day-to-day participation in school activities.
Key Qualifications:
- Current RN or LPN license in Massachusetts (required)
- Prior experience working in a school-based setting
- Ability to complete all necessary CORI and Fingerprinting requirements
- Comfortable working with young children who have advanced medical needs such as tracheostomy and ventilator management
- CNA and medical assistant credentials are not considered for this position
- Available to work on-site on Mondays and Fridays
- Flexibility to ride with the student on van transport before and after school
- Familiarity with pediatric care and working in an educational environment is highly valued
