The role covers two school campuses in the South Chicago area, ensuring students receive high-quality health support throughout the academic year.

Qualifications:

  • Hold a current RN license and School Nurse certification as required for Illinois schools
  • Bring at least three years of recent experience as a school nurse in a K-8 setting
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local regulations governing school health services
  • Ability to maintain accurate health records and respond quickly to student needs
  • Preferred: Bilingual in Spanish, CPR and PALS certification

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care and triage for students and staff during school hours
  • Develop health care plans for students with chronic conditions
  • Administer routine screenings, vaccinations, and medication as needed
  • Collaborate with families, teachers, and administrators to promote student wellness
  • Maintain detailed medical records in compliance with legal standards
  • Respond effectively to emergencies, and educate the school community on best practices for health and safety
