Job Description

A healthcare professional position is available to provide dedicated nursing support for a student with extensive medical needs. This role requires either a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) experienced in school settings. The assignment is contract-based and takes place in Des Plaines, IL, with a student located in Chicago, IL 60621.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one nursing care to support the student's complex medical requirements throughout the school year.
  • Accompany the student on the bus, ensuring safety and continuity of care during transportation.
  • Monitor and document the student's health status, administer medications, and respond promptly to any medical situations.
  • Collaborate with school staff, family members, and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care planning.
  • Maintain all necessary health documentation in compliance with school and healthcare regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) with experience in school nursing.
  • Ability to manage and document complex medical needs in a school environment.
  • Willingness to travel with the student via bus daily.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with educators and families.
  • Commitment to a year-round contract starting ASAP.
