This contract position offers a rewarding opportunity to provide 1:1 nursing care for a kindergartener with severe needs in a school setting near Dalton, GA. The role requires a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) with tracheostomy experience to deliver expert support and ensure the well-being and safety of the student.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized nursing care on a 1:1 basis for a student with significant medical needs.
- Perform tracheostomy care and related medical procedures according to established protocols.
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and healthcare providers to create a supportive environment.
- Monitor and document the students health status and respond promptly to any changes.
- Maintain compliance with all licensing and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Current RN or LPN/LVN license valid in the state of Georgia.
- Proven experience with tracheostomy care and pediatric nursing.
- Previous experience working in educational or similar pediatric settings preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with the child, family, and school team.
- Ability to commit to 9 hours per week in a school environment.
Location: This role is based near Rome, GA, providing nursing support within a local school.
