A part-time licensed Nurse (RN or LPN) is sought to support the health needs of students at an elementary school in Wakefield, RI. This contract-to-hire position offers a meaningful opportunity to provide nursing care within a school setting as part of a dedicated educational team.
Location: Wakefield, Rhode Island
Schedule: Part-time, approximately 16 hours per week
- Morning hours: 8:00 AM 9:30 AM
- Afternoon hours: 2:45 PM 4:15 PM
The school compensates for 4 hours daily regardless of time spent with students.
Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care and health assessments to elementary-aged students
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Collaborate with school staff and provide guidance on health-related issues
- Maintain accurate health records in compliance with district policies
- Supervision support provided by para-professionals or licensed staff (e.g., CNA, LPN)
Qualifications:
- Current Rhode Island RN or LPN license required
- Experience working in school nursing or pediatric care preferred
- Ability to multitask and communicate clearly with students, staff, and families
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Additional information:
- Position to begin ASAP, continuing through June 20th
- Interviews require 24-hour advance notice and are conducted by panel or casual format
- Fingerprinting and background checks will be completed prior to start
- Training provided related to school policies and procedures
