Make a real difference supporting K-12 students as a contract school nurse working onsite near Cottage Grove, MN. This role is ideal for a registered nurse or licensed practical/vocational nurse with experience in school or pediatric environments who is seeking consistent part-time hours throughout the week. Youll provide critical health and wellness services to students, collaborate closely with school staff, and contribute to a safe and supportive learning environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Active MN RN or LPN license required
- Prior experience in a school setting or with pediatric populations
- Strong clinical assessment, health care coordination, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple health issues and respond effectively in urgent situations
- Commitment to maintaining professional and ethical standards within a school-based role
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and indirect nursing care for K-12 students, including daily medical needs, first aid, and chronic condition management
- Ensure accurate maintenance of health records, medication administration, and compliance with school policies
- Partner with educators and families to support individual health plans and accommodate student needs
- Act as a health resource for students, staff, and families regarding illness prevention and wellness
- Monitor health protocols and assist in response to health emergencies or outbreaks within the school community
