Step into a rewarding contract position as a School Nurse (RN), providing vital care and support to students across a network of elementary and middle schools. Enjoy a steady, full-time weekday schedule from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, as you rotate between 12 sites within a dynamic school district. Your role will include assisting school nurses and offering coverage wherever youre needed most, contributing to a safe and healthy learning environment.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- Active RN license in New York (required)
- Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred
- Flexible and adaptable, capable of thriving in an itinerant role across multiple locations
- Strong communication skills for collaborative work with students, staff, and healthcare team members
- Compassionate, with a commitment to promoting student well-being and safety
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct nursing care and first aid to students across assigned elementary and middle schools
- Assist and collaborate with existing nursing staff, filling in as needed across the districts locations
- Assess and respond to student health needs and emergencies with professionalism and efficiency
- Maintain accurate health records and ensure documentation meets school policies and compliance requirements
- Communicate effectively with school personnel, parents, and external healthcare providers
