A full-time Registered Nurse (RN) position is available for a School Nurse role serving multiple school sites within a district. This contract opportunity will begin in January 2026 and is ideal for an experienced RN with a passion for pediatric care and school environments. The role involves supporting the health and wellness of elementary and middle school students across a district of 12 locations, primarily working onsite.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care and health services to students within elementary and middle schools
- Cover and assist other school nurses as needed across multiple school sites
- Manage student health records, medication administration, and health plans
- Collaborate with school staff, parents, and healthcare providers to promote wellbeing
- Support preventative health initiatives and respond to medical emergencies in schools
Qualifications:
- Active RN license in New York State is required
- Experience with school nursing or pediatric healthcare is strongly preferred
- Ability to travel itinerantly across 12 schools within the district
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Commitment to student health and safety
Location and Schedule:
- Based in Cortland, NY
- Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
- Work is performed onsite at various elementary and middle school locations
