Job Description

A full-time Certified School Nurse position is available in a K-12 school located in Connell, WA. This contract role spans the complete school year, offering 37.5 hours per week on-site to support students' health and well-being throughout the school day and related activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and address the physical and emotional health needs of students, ensuring support aligns with educational goals.
  • Conduct health screenings and identify health concerns; initiate referrals for diagnosis and treatment as needed.
  • Communicate critical health information affecting student learning with appropriate school personnel.
  • Employ student-centered, evidence-based practices and utilize performance data to guide health interventions.
  • Advocate for student autonomy by promoting self-empowerment, self-management, and effective communication.
  • Uphold ethical and equitable care standards, safeguarding the privacy and rights of students and families.
  • Develop individualized emergency plans (IEPs) for students with life-threatening conditions.
  • Create individual health plans (IHPs) for medically fragile students or those requiring nursing treatments or medication administration.
  • Participate actively in school-sponsored activities supporting student health.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Certified School Nurse (CSN) license for Washington State.
  • Proven experience assessing and managing student health within educational settings.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with students, families, and school staff.
  • Ability to develop and implement care plans tailored to diverse student needs.
  • Commitment to ethical nursing practice and student advocacy.
