Job Description
A healthcare professional with a valid Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Massachusetts license is needed to provide specialized nursing care in a school setting in Acton, MA. This position involves working with medically complex middle and high school students, requiring knowledge in seizure monitoring, G-tube feeding, medication administration, and general nursing duties.
Location: Acton, MA (Travel assignment)
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday
- 7:45 AM to 2:45 PM (early dismissal at noon on Wednesdays)
Caseload:
- Approximately 10 students
- Age group: Middle and high school students with complex medical needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage seizures and provide immediate care if needed
- Administer medications and manage G-tube feedings according to individual care plans
- Deliver general nursing care and health assessments for students
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive student care
- Maintain accurate health records and comply with school policies and regulations
Desired Qualifications:
- Current Massachusetts RN or LPN license
- Experience in pediatric or school nursing, particularly with medically complex students
- Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively
- Strong communication and organizational skills
