This opportunity is ideal for a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) seeking a rewarding role in a school setting. Located in Columbia, PA, this position supports the health and well-being of elementary school students, specifically serving grades Kindergarten through 4th grade. The role is contract-based, spanning the full school year, with flexible scheduling options that include full-time and part-time availability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care and support to students within the school environment
- Assess and manage student health needs, including chronic conditions and acute injuries
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Collaborate with school staff, parents, and healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized health plans
- Maintain accurate health records and ensure compliance with state regulations
- Promote health education and wellness initiatives for students and staff
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current Pennsylvania RN or LPN license
- CPR certification is required
- Experience working in a school or pediatric healthcare setting preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and handle confidential information professionally
Position Details:
- Location: Columbia, PA
- Hours: 7:45 AM to 3:20 PM, Monday through Friday
- Scheduling: Full-time, part-time, or per diem options available
- Student caseload: Kindergarten through 4th grade
