In this full-time contract position based onsite, youll play a key part in supporting the health and success of students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). The opportunity begins in August for the 26/27 school year, with a 37.5-hour work week focused on just one campusallowing you to build strong, supportive relationships within the school community.
Bring your expertise as a Certified School Nurse (CSN) and make an immediate impact by conducting hearing and vision screenings primarily for IEP testing. Beyond screenings, youll serve as a vital consultant and trainer for staff, sharing your knowledge to support students with diverse health needs, including allergies, feeding tube assistance, and seizure management.
Qualifications and Experience Sought:
- Certified School Nurse License in California is required
- Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Credential
- School nurse experience is highly valued, especially in settings serving students with IEPs
- A strong foundation in health screenings, and comfort with training and consulting staff on varied medical needs
Core Responsibilities Include:
- Conducting hearing and vision screenings for students undergoing IEP testing
- Acting as a resource and trainer for school staff on medical topics related to allergies, feeding tubes, and seizures
- Supporting a caseload of approximately 78 students with active IEPs
- Ensuring compliance with school and state guidelines for student health services
