Make an impact in an educational setting by bringing your RN expertise to a dynamic role supporting students from preschool through 8th grade. This contract opportunity focuses on bolstering student health and development within a collaborative school environment near Colfax, CA. Youll play a key part in the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process and provide staff guidance for students medical needs.
Key Qualifications:
- Active and unrestricted California RN license
- Experience in school nursing or pediatric settings preferred
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with families and school staff
- Ability to develop and update individualized healthcare plans
- Comfortable providing training on specific interventions such as tube feeding or EPI-Pen use
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support the health and development portion of student IEP assessments, preparing and submitting reports to the educational team
- Meet with families as requested to review health-related IEP reports
- Develop and update individualized healthcare plans for students with medical needs
- Offer consultation and training to school staff on higher-level interventions including emergency protocols
- Provide nursing coverage across two nearby school sites, serving a K-8 caseload
