Job Description
A registered nurse licensed in Ohio is needed to provide dedicated care and support for a female 12-year-old student attending 5th grade in a middle school setting. This contract position is located in Barberton, OH, and runs from April 6 to May 20, 2025, including extended school year (ESY) services. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to approximately 2:30 or 3:00 PM.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing tracheostomy care and providing respiratory support for an oxygen-dependent student
- Assisting with mobility and daily activities for a wheelchair-bound individual
- Supporting communication using eye-gazing methods
- Coordinating transportation as the student will ride the bus close to home and school
- Flexibly adjusting to the student's attendance as they may be absent for extended periods
Required qualifications and experience:
- Valid Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Proven experience in tracheostomy care and respiratory management
- Comfort working with medically fragile children in a school environment
- Availability to remain flexible with the students varying attendance schedule
