Job Description
A full-time Certified School Nurse position is available in a K-12 school setting located in Clairton, PA. This contract role requires providing nursing services to a diverse student population of approximately 800 children, with support from a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). The assignment spans from ASAP through the end of the school year, operating Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to students from kindergarten through 12th grade
- Conduct health assessments, administer medications, and manage chronic conditions
- Collaborate with school staff and families to support student health and wellness
- Maintain accurate and confidential health records in compliance with policies
- Provide emergency care and follow up on student health concerns as needed
Qualifications:
- Current Pennsylvania Certified School Nurse (CSN) certification required
- Registered Nurse (RN) license preferred or required depending on state guidelines
- Experience working in school health or pediatric nursing
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with children of varying ages and school staff
