Your recent school-based nursing experience is essential as you manage daily care, respond to emergencies, and collaborate with education professionals. Commuting comfort is important for this role, as your time will be split between two centrally located Chicago campuses. An average work week consists of 37.5 hours, giving you a structured yet dynamic schedule interacting closely with faculty, students, and families.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Current RN licensure required
- Demonstrated experience working as a school nurse within the past year
- Strong knowledge of school health policies, immunizations, and care planning
- Ability to assess and address student health needs promptly and compassionately
- Comfort providing services onsite at two locations; please verify commute is suitable
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver daily nursing care, administer medications, and assist with chronic condition management
- Act as a health resource for students, staff, and families
- Maintain accurate health records and documentation
- Respond swiftly to health emergencies and implement individualized healthcare plans
- Coordinate with teachers, counselors, and administrative staff to support student well-being
