Step into a meaningful role supporting students well-being as a School Nurse for the 26-27 academic year. This full-time contract position will serve K-8 students in supportive, diverse school communities near Cicero, IL. The assignment begins July 20, 2026, and runs through June 11, 2027, allowing you to make a lasting difference throughout the full school year.
Your expertise as a Registered Nurse will be valued as you join an organization dedicated to serving predominantly low-income, minority elementary students while shaping the future of school health services. This position will provide care across multiple campuses, offering a dynamic, rewarding professional experience.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current Illinois RN license and active School Nurse certification, meeting state and district requirements
- At least three years of recent experience as a school nurse
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local school health regulations
- Excellent assessment, triage, and communication skills
- Preferred: Bilingual in Spanish
- Preferred: CPR and PALS certifications
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct health services, including assessment, intervention, and follow-up for K-8 students
- Maintain accurate health documentation and manage health plans
- Educate students and staff on wellness, prevention, and chronic condition management
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, parents, and community organizations to support student health
- Ensure compliance with reporting, immunizations, and health screening protocols
