A full-time opportunity is available for an experienced Certified School Nurse to support student wellness and educational success in a vibrant school setting near Chicago, IL. This on-site, contract-based role is ideal for Registered Nurses who are passionate about partnering with schools to foster safe and healthy learning environments.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
- Professional Educator License (PEL) with Certified School Nurse (CSN) endorsement
- Demonstrated experience providing nursing care in a school or pediatric setting
- Strong assessment, communication, and advocacy skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams
- Solid organizational skills and attention to detail
- Commitment to promoting health equity and inclusive practices
Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, and implement health services for students in compliance with state and district guidelines
- Administer medications, manage chronic conditions, and provide emergency care as needed
- Develop and update individualized healthcare plans (IHPs) for students with specific needs
- Conduct health screenings, immunization compliance checks, and infectious disease monitoring
- Serve as a resource for health education and wellness initiatives within the school community
- Maintain accurate health records and documentation in accordance with policy
- Consult with staff and parents about student health and accommodations
- Participate in professional development and ongoing training

Compensation for this position ranges from $28.00 to $45.00. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
