Job Description

The ideal candidate will have prior school nursing experience and be eager to foster a safe, nurturing environment that promotes student success.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
  • Demonstrated experience in a school or pediatric setting strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with school health protocols, documentation, and student care plans
  • Ability to work independently, respond to health emergencies, and manage student health needs with professionalism and care
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with staff, students, and parents
  • CPR/BLS certification required
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct nursing care and first aid to students and staff
  • Administer medications, monitor chronic health conditions, and respond to urgent health situations
  • Maintain accurate student health records and uphold confidentiality
  • Implement individualized healthcare plans and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Support health education initiatives and promote wellness within the school community
  • Adhere to state, local, and school district policies and regulations
  • Engage in health screenings and manage immunization compliance
