Step into a dynamic RN role supporting students and staff across two schools near Chicago, IL. You'll fill a vital need as a temporary school nurse, providing coverage during a maternity leave for approximately 2-3 months, with a start date targeted for July 20th to take part in onboarding at the start of the school year. Your clinical skills and compassionate approach will make a genuine impact on the learning community, ensuring students well-being and health remain a top priority.

Qualifications:

• Current, active RN license in Illinois
• Previous experience in a school health or pediatric environment preferred
• Familiarity with individualized health care plans and school health protocols
• Strong clinical assessment, triage, and emergency response abilities
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with students, staff, and parents
• Adaptability to work across multiple school locations

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily student health needs, including chronic condition support and first aid
• Administer medications in accordance with physician and district guidelines
• Respond quickly to health emergencies and communicate effectively with stakeholders
• Maintain accurate health records and documentation
• Educate students and staff on health, hygiene, and disease prevention
• Collaborate with administrators on COVID-19 protocols and other public health measures
• Support the transition and onboarding process of new or returning school nursing staff
