Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting a young student in an educational environment. As a Registered Nurse, your presence will directly impact the well-being and daily experience of a 5-year-old attending school Monday through Friday from 9:05 AM to 3:35 PM. Working in close coordination with educational staff, youll ensure a safe, nurturing atmosphere as you attend to specific medical needs throughout the school day.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state
- Experience providing nursing care for pediatric patients
- Prior exposure to a school or educational setting preferred
- Confidence in monitoring central lines (no in-depth care required during the day)
- Familiarity with jejunostomy management and ostomy bag monitoring
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate, attentive approach
- Ability to respond promptly and effectively in emergencies
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Monitor a 5-year-old students central line and ostomy bag throughout the school day, ensuring comfort and safety
- Remain attentive to the students condition, documenting observations and communicating any necessary information with school staff and family
- Participate in daily routines within the classroom environment while maintaining health protocols
- Support the overall wellness of the student, providing reassurance and addressing any concerns
- Serve as a healthcare advocate within the students support team, contributing to a positive educational experience
