This contract opportunity calls for an experienced Registered Nurse with specialized knowledge to support a medically fragile student requiring G-tube and tracheostomy care for the remainder of the school year. Situated in a school-based environment near Centreville, MD, youll provide vital 1:1 support, ensuring their safety, health, and educational participation.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active Maryland Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Proven experience in pediatric, school, or comparable nursing settings
- Direct experience with G-tube and tracheostomy care
- Ability to respond quickly and calmly in emergency situations
- Strong communication skills with students, families, and school staff
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deliver attentive 1:1 nursing services during school hours to a middle school student
- Monitor and assess medical needs; provide daily G-tube feedings and tracheostomy care
- Administer prescribed medications and manage ongoing health management as directed by students care plan
- Document care and observations according to state and school policies
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support the students educational and health needs
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource and liaison among student, family, and school community
