A K-12 school in Carpinteria, CA, is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to provide essential health support on a contract basis for the current school year. This role involves contributing to the well-being and medical care of students, focusing on one child with specific medical needs requiring a triennial reassessment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct a comprehensive triennial reassessment for a student with medical needs
- Develop and update individualized health care plans in collaboration with school staff and medical personnel
- Coordinate medical aide support to ensure proper care during school hours
- Meet in person with the student and their parents at least once to discuss concerns and care plans
- Provide nursing support for approximately 3 hours per week, with flexible scheduling options to spread hours throughout the week or consolidate into a single day
- Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with all stakeholders involved in the students care
Desired Qualifications:
- Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) credential in good standing
- Experience in pediatric or school nursing preferred
- Strong case management and coordination skills
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
- Excellent interpersonal skills for collaborating with families, students, and educational staff
Location: Carpinteria, California fully in-person position
Duration: Contract position covering the current school year (CSY), starting as soon as June 3rd, 2026
