Job Description

A Registered Nurse is needed for a contract position supporting high school students with specialized medical needs in Cambridge, MD. This role involves providing skilled nursing care both onsite at the school and during transit on the bus. The nurse will work closely with full-time nurses assigned to specific students, delivering hands-on support and ensuring student safety throughout the day and during transportation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing care and supervision for students requiring full-time nursing support.
  • Accompany students on the bus to and from school, monitoring and managing their medical needs during transit.
  • Collaborate with school staff and healthcare professionals to maintain individualized care plans.
  • Document nursing activities and communicate changes in student condition.
  • Assist with routine health screenings and emergency procedures as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Current Maryland Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
  • Experience in school nursing or pediatric nursing preferred.
  • Ability to manage complex health needs in a school and transportation setting.
  • Strong communication skills with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Reliable and punctual with a flexible approach to changing circumstances.

Position Details:

  • Contract assignment beginning as soon as possible through June 16, 2026.
  • Onsite presence in Cambridge, MD, with 37.5 hours per week.
  • Caseload focuses on high school students needing continuous nursing care.
