A middle school in Billerica, MA is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to provide dedicated health care support in a school setting. This contract role requires an RN licensed in Massachusetts to manage and care for a caseload of approximately 5 students with diabetes, ensuring their health needs are met effectively throughout the school day.
Location: Billerica, MA
Position Type: Contract
Hours: Monday - Friday, 6:50 AM 1:50 PM
Age Group: Middle School
Caseload: 5 diabetic students
Qualifications:
- Active RN license in Massachusetts
- Experience in school nursing preferred
- Strong skills in managing chronic health conditions such as diabetes
- Ability to work independently in a school health room setting
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care and health assessments to middle school students
- Monitor and manage students with diabetes, ensuring adherence to care plans
- Maintain health records and communicate with school staff and families as appropriate
- Promote health and safety within the school environment
- Respond to emergencies and provide first aid when necessary
