Job Description
A 1:1 nursing opportunity is available for a registered nurse (RN) or licensed practical nurse (LPN) to support a medically fragile student in a K-12 school setting. This contract position extends through the current school year, running from ASAP through June 2026.
Location: Cambridge, MA, with transportation responsibilities between Billerica, MA, and Lexington, MA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 nursing care for a special education student during transportation and school hours.
- Assist the student in preparing for daily van trips between home and school.
- Collaborate with the nurse on the receiving out-of-district campus.
- Float within the school district to cover other nursing roles as needed.
Qualifications:
- Current RN or LPN licensure.
- Experience in school nursing or with medically fragile students.
- Ability to support special education transportation routines.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday
- Starting around 7:007:30 AM, ending around 2:00 PM
This role requires reliability and compassion for a medically complex student in a school setting, offering a unique blend of clinical and transportation nursing duties.
