Job Description

A full-time Registered Nurse (RN) position is available to provide specialized nursing care within a K-12 school setting in Medford, MA. This role focuses on delivering one-on-one support to a student with complex medical needs, including seizure management, tracheostomy care, suctioning, and gastrostomy feeding (G-tube). The contract runs throughout the school year, Monday through Friday, requiring attendance during school hours with transportation provided via bus to and from the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer seizure medications and perform tracheostomy and suctioning care in adherence to established health protocols.
  • Manage gastrostomy tube feedings and monitor the students overall health status throughout the school day.
  • Collaborate with school staff, parents, and healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care and student safety.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation and reports.
  • Accompany the student during bus transportation to and from school to provide necessary medical oversight.

Qualifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Massachusetts is required.
  • Previous experience in pediatric nursing or school nursing preferred.
  • Ability to perform specialized medical procedures including seizure care, tracheostomy, suctioning, and G-tube management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and families.
  • Commitment to maintaining student confidentiality and adhering to all regulatory policies.

Location: Medford, MA K-12 school setting
Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday during the school year
Caseload: 1:1 nursing support for a medically complex student
