Step into a meaningful contract role this school year as a Registered Nurse, providing 1:1 care for a medically fragile student in the greater Brockton, MA area. This opportunity combines school-day structure with clinical nursing expertise, where your skills will truly make a difference. Youll accompany and medically support the student during bus transportation between Medford and Chestnut Hill, ensuring a safe, nurturing journey each day.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Previous pediatric or school-based nursing experience preferred
- Confident managing medical equipment including oxygen tanks, suction machines, and monitoring devices
- Comfortable working with non-verbal, wheelchair-dependent students with complex medical needs
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with families, school staff, and healthcare teams
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct clinical care during transportation, focusing on airway patency and seizure monitoring
- Monitor vital signs using oxygen saturation and heart rate equipment
- Administer emergency medications and manage medical interventions as needed
- Ensure student comfort and safety throughout transit
- Maintain accurate documentation of all nursing assessments and interventions
- Communicate proactively with on-site nurses, parents, and health supervisors

- Contract runs July 12 through August 6 for summer session, and August 31 through June 21, 2022 for the academic year
- Consistent 4-day work week (Tuesday through Friday), 7:30am 4:00pm
