A Registered Nurse (RN) opportunity is available for a school health room position serving middle school students in Billerica, MA. This contract role involves working Monday through Friday from 6:50 AM to 1:50 PM, providing essential nursing care within a school setting. The caseload includes five students managing diabetes, requiring specialized attention and support.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering comprehensive nursing care in the middle school health room
- Managing and monitoring diabetic students health needs
- Administering medications, treatments, and health assessments as needed
- Collaborating with school staff, families, and healthcare providers to support student well-being
- Ensuring compliance with state nursing standards and school health policies
Qualifications and experience desired:
- Current RN license valid in Massachusetts
- Prior school nursing experience preferred, particularly with middle school-aged children
- Ability to manage health concerns in a school environment, including chronic conditions like diabetes
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Commitment to promoting student health and safety
