This contract position for a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Acton, MA offers an opportunity to provide specialized nursing care in a middle and high school setting. The role involves caring for medically complex students, requiring expertise in seizure monitoring and management, G-tube feeding, medication administration, and general nursing duties.
Location: Acton, Massachusetts
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:45 AM 2:45 PM (early dismissal at noon on Wednesdays)
Student Caseload: 10 medically complex middle and high school students
Qualifications:
- Valid Massachusetts RN or LPN license is mandatory
- Experience in pediatric or school nursing preferred
- Skilled in managing students with complex medical needs including seizure disorders and enteral feeding
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to students with complex medical conditions
- Monitor and manage seizures, administer medications, and perform G-tube feedings
- Collaborate with school staff and healthcare providers to ensure a safe, supportive environment
- Maintain accurate documentation and communication related to student health status
