Job Description

Deliver skilled nursing care in a middle school setting located in Billerica, MA, supporting the health and well-being of students, including those with specialized medical needs like diabetes. This travel assignment offers the opportunity to work Monday through Friday, from 6:50 AM to 1:50 PM, providing essential health services during the school day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily nursing care and health assessments to middle school students.
  • Manage and support a caseload of approximately five students with diabetes, including monitoring blood glucose levels and administering medications as needed.
  • Respond to acute health issues and emergencies in the school health room.
  • Maintain accurate health records and communicate effectively with staff, parents, and healthcare providers.
  • Promote health education and wellness initiatives among students.

Qualifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Massachusetts.
  • Experience in school nursing preferred, with knowledge of pediatric care and chronic conditions such as diabetes.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently in a school environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with students, families, and school staff.
