Job Description

This position involves providing dedicated, one-on-one nursing support to a medically fragile student within a school setting in Big Lake, MN. The role requires delivering comprehensive, onsite nursing care throughout the school day, working 38 hours per week to ensure the students health and safety.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing tracheostomy care, including routine maintenance and emergency response
  • Administering respiratory support such as ventilator management and nebulizer treatments
  • Caring for feeding tubes (G-J tube) with continuous feeding schedules
  • Changing ostomy bags as needed and monitoring for skin integrity
  • Administering nasally delivered seizure medication and monitoring seizure activity
  • Supporting the students adrenal insufficiency and other complex medical needs
  • Collaborating with school staff and healthcare providers to maintain a safe, supportive environment

Qualifications and experience:

  • An active Minnesota Registered Nurse license is required
  • Current CPR/BLS certification is mandatory
  • Previous experience with tracheostomy care is essential
  • Pediatric nursing experience is preferred
  • Ability to work independently with a medically complex student
