Job Description
A summer position is available for a licensed School Nurse to provide essential health services and promote student wellness during the summer session in Bethlehem, PA. This contracted role offers a supportive environment to assist students with health needs, respond promptly to illness or injuries, and help maintain a safe school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and treat student illnesses or injuries, providing first aid as necessary
- Deliver preventive health services supporting physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being
- Educate students, parents/guardians, and staff on health-related topics
- Maintain open communication with students and families regarding health concerns
- Implement and document the school health program accurately
- Contribute to a secure and healthy environment for all students on site
Desired Qualifications:
- Licensed Professional Nurse (LPN or RN) in Pennsylvania
- Certification as an Educational Specialist from the Pennsylvania Department of Education
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Current Red Cross CPR and First Aid Instructor certifications
- 35 years of nursing experience preferred, with emphasis on pediatrics or school nursing
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, and sit throughout the workday
- Effective communication skills including vision, hearing, and speech
- Capacity to safely lift or carry 1025 pounds
- Mobility to navigate school buildings and event locations independently
Schedule and Location:
- Monday through Thursday, 9:00 AM 2:00 PM
- July 6 through July 30
- Onsite role in Bethlehem, PA
