Make a real difference supporting the health and well-being of elementary school students as an experienced Registered Nurse on a part-time basis. This contract position is located in the vicinity of Berwyn and Calumet City, IL, with an immediate need for skilled professionals with a passion for caring for young learners throughout the full school year.
Required Qualifications:
- Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license or Certified School Nurse endorsement
- Recent experience providing healthcare in a school, pediatric, or similar setting
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, staff, and families
- Confidence in managing student health plans, medication administration, and emergency care
- Ability to maintain detailed records and comply with state and school health protocols
Primary Duties:
- Assessment and triage of student health concerns, first aid and urgent care
- Administer prescribed medications and manage chronic health conditions
- Monitor and document immunizations, health screenings, and parent communications
- Provide education to students and staff on wellness, hygiene, and illness prevention
- Collaborate with school administration to uphold safety and compliance standards
- Serve as a health resource and provide support at school events as needed
