An opportunity for a registered nurse with specialized pediatric and tracheostomy care experience is available for a travel position in Barberton, OH. This role focuses on providing dedicated one-to-one nursing support to a 12-year-old female student in 5th grade who requires complex respiratory and mobility assistance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver skilled nursing care tailored to a student who is oxygen-dependent and uses a tracheostomy.
- Manage tracheostomy care and respiratory needs with vigilance and precision.
- Assist with mobility and communication; the student is wheelchair-bound and uses eye gazing for communication.
- Coordinate closely with school staff and family to ensure continuity of care.
- Adapt to variable attendance as the student may have intermittent absences of up to a week.
- Provide care during school hours, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to approximately 2:30-3:00 PM.
Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio is required.
- Proven experience with tracheostomy care and managing oxygen-dependent pediatric patients.
- Ability to work independently in a school environment with sensitivity to the students needs.
- Flexibility to accommodate the students possible absence for extended periods.
Location & Schedule:
- Travel position based in Barberton, OH, supporting one school assignment.
- Position dates from April 6 to May 20, 2025, including extended school year (ESY).
- Routine Monday to Friday, during school hours.
