Experience the rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference as a contract Registered Nurse supporting a vibrant 12-year-old student in 5th grade. This unique one-to-one role involves providing essential medical care and encouragement throughout the school day and during transportation to and from school via bus. Your clinical expertise and compassionate professionalism will ensure a safe, enriching environment for a student who uses a wheelchair, communicates through eye-gaze, is oxygen dependent, and requires trach care.
Key Qualifications:
- Active RN license in the state of Ohio
- Direct experience with trach and ventilator care
- Confident providing oxygen management and wheelchair assistance
- Experience or comfort working one-on-one in a school environment
- Ability to work pro-actively as an independent healthcare provider
- Willingness to have a flexible schedule and be adaptable when the student is absent, including missing multiple or consecutive days if needed
Role Details & Daily Responsibilities:
- Deliver competent and compassionate nursing care for a 12-year-old female student during school hours
- Accompany the student on the school bus, ensuring safety during transit to school and home
- Monitor vital signs, manage trach and oxygen needs, and communicate regularly with school staff and parents
- Support daily classroom routines and serve as a resource for general health and wellness
- Maintain accurate charts and documentation per state guidelines
- Collaborate with other school health professionals when appropriate
Youll enjoy a consistent MondayFriday schedule, approximately 7am to 2:30/3pm, with scheduled time off when the student is absent. The contract begins April 6th and runs through May 20th, 2025, including ESY (Extended School Year).
