A school district in Bangor, PA is seeking a licensed Registered Nurse to support student health and wellness during an upcoming summer session. This role focuses on preventive health services and assisting with student illness or injury to promote a safe and healthy learning environment.
Position Details:
- Location: Bangor, PA
- Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 9:00 AM 2:00 PM
- Duration: July 6 July 30
- Setting: Onsite

Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and manage student illnesses and injuries, providing first aid as needed
- Deliver preventive health care to support physical, mental, emotional, and social development of students
- Educate students, parents/guardians, and staff on health-related topics when assigned
- Maintain regular communication with students and families about health concerns
- Implement and document the school health program following district guidelines
- Ensure a safe and healthy environment to facilitate student participation in school activities
Qualifications:
- Licensed Professional Nurse (LPN or RN) in Pennsylvania
- Certification as an Educational Specialist by the Pennsylvania Department of Education
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Current Red Cross CPR and First Aid Instructor certifications
- 35 years of nursing experience preferred, particularly in pediatrics, school nursing, or related areas
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, sit, and reach throughout the day
- Effective communication abilities, including vision, hearing, and speech
- Capacity to lift or carry 1025 pounds safely
- Mobility to navigate school buildings and event spaces independently
