An exciting opportunity is available for a skilled Certified School Nurse (CSN) to support students in a therapeutic day school setting located near Aurora, IL. This contract role focuses on delivering essential nursing care to students who require a higher level of behavioral and health-related support than typically offered within public schools. Working onsite, youll have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference for a small, specific student caseload each week.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Certified School Nurse (CSN) credential is mandatory
- Professional Educator License (PEL) required
- Registered Nurse (RN) experience in school settings highly valued
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to respond efficiently to behavioral and health-related needs
- Experience supporting students with behavioral and emotional challenges preferred
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing services to students in alignment with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Assess and monitor students physical and emotional health during school hours
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and public school personnel to ensure continual care and support plans
- Maintain accurate health documentation and adhere to regulatory standards
- Offer crisis response and support during behavioral incidents as needed
- Deliver health education and promote wellness within the therapeutic day school environment
