Step into a rewarding contract opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in school health. Located near Aurora, IL, this onsite role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact in an educational setting, providing care and support to students throughout the academic year.
In this position, youll work 37.5 hours per week from August through May, managing the school health office and collaborating with educational teams. Youll utilize your training as a Certified School Nurse (CSN) to conduct medical reviews, advocate for student health needs, and actively participate in IEP and 504 plan processesall essential functions within a dynamic school environment.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with Professional Educator License (PEL) and CSN endorsement required
- Current and valid RN license
- Experience working as a Registered Nurse in a school setting preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills for effective office management and collaboration
- Familiarity with IEP and 504 processes a plus
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, student-centered workplace
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the health office, addressing daily medical needs and emergencies
- Complete required medical reviews and documentation for student files
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, including IEPs and 504 plans
- Serve as a health resource for students, staff, and parents
- Promote a safe and healthy learning environment by following best nursing practices
