Step into a meaningful role supporting student well-being as a contract Registered Nurse, working 1:1 with a student in a school environment near Auburn, ME. This opportunity begins immediately, covering for a current RN on maternity leave, with an initial schedule of 1-2 days per week and the potential for full-time hours as the new school year begins.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maine
- Previous experience in school nursing or pediatric settings preferred
- Excellent communication and rapport-building skills with students, families, and staff
- Ability to work independently while following school protocols and collaborating with educational teams
- Strong clinical assessment and documentation abilities
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct 1:1 nursing care for a student, including medication administration, monitoring, and support throughout the school day
- Maintain accurate health records, care plans, and documentation in compliance with district and state regulations
- Communicate promptly with school personnel and guardians regarding student health matters
- Respond effectively to emergencies and implement care protocols as needed
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and nurturing school environment
