This role is ideal for adaptable, compassionate RNs seeking to make a daily impact while collaborating with diverse educational teams. Flexible virtual or in-person options are available, with immediate start and an ongoing schedule from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
Requirements and Preferred Experience:
- Active Illinois RN license (unrestricted)
- School-based or pediatric nursing experience highly beneficial
- Strong clinical assessment, triage, and documentation skills
- Confidence in supporting students with chronic health conditions, medication administration, and emergency response
- Excellent communication to liaise with students, families, and school staff
- Quick adaptability to shifting priorities and caseloads in dynamic educational settings
Primary Responsibilities:
- Promote the well-being of students by providing direct nursing care during school hours
- Manage health plans for individuals with chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes, or allergies
- Administer prescribed medications and provide first aid as needed
- Maintain accurate, confidential documentation in compliance with state and district guidelines
- Support public health protocols and foster a safe learning environment
- Serve as a resource for staff on health-related topics and best practices
