Your essential skills and compassionate care will be key in fostering a healthy, safe, and inclusive learning atmosphere for students across multiple grade levels. As part of a collaborative team, you'll oversee daily health-related needs, respond to emergencies, and act as a trusted resource to staff, students, and families.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Illinois RN License required
- Previous experience as a school nurse or with pediatric populations preferred
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- Strong assessment and clinical skills suitable for a school setting
- Ability to multitask and adapt in a dynamic environment
- Compassion for students of all backgrounds and ages
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and first aid to students and staff
- Administer prescribed medications and manage student health plans
- Maintain thorough and accurate health records in accordance with regulations
- Assist with health screenings, immunization compliance, and care plans for chronic conditions
- Educate students and faculty on wellness, hygiene, and disease prevention
- Collaborate with school staff and families to create supportive health environments
