Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting a medically fragile student as a 1:1 school-based Registered Nurse. In this position, youll be working onsite in a K-12 school near Anoka, MN, dedicating your compassionate nursing skills to one student who requires specialized, attentive care throughout their school day.

You will be entrusted with delivering individualized health support in a collaborative educational environment, working closely with students, families, and staff. With a consistent schedule of 38 hours per week, youll become a key partner in the students day-to-day wellbeing and growth.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Active Minnesota Registered Nurse license
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • Demonstrated tracheostomy care experience (required)
  • Background in pediatric or school nursing preferred
  • Strong knowledge of care for ventilators, J-tube, ostomy, and oxygen management
  • Ability to manage seizure response and adrenal insufficiency protocols
  • Comfort supporting students with complex medical needs, including respiratory and feeding interventions

What Youll Do:

  • Provide comprehensive 1:1 nursing care throughout the school day
  • Oversee tracheostomy and ventilator support, J-tube feedings, and ostomy care as needed
  • Monitor and operate oxygen tanks, administer neb treatments, and respond to respiratory needs
  • Administer medication (including nasally delivered seizure medication) as required
  • Collaborate with school staff to create a supportive and safe learning environment
  • Maintain meticulous documentation and ongoing communication with families and healthcare teams
