Key Qualifications:
- Active RN license in New York
- Prior experience as a Registered Nurse, preferably in a school or pediatric setting
- Strong assessment, clinical, and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with school staff, parents, and allied professionals
- Comfortable working with K-12 populations
- CPR and First Aid certification required
- Familiarity with student health recordkeeping and protocols
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct nursing care to students with acute or chronic health concerns
- Administer medications and perform medical procedures per physician orders
- Maintain accurate health records and documentation in compliance with state regulations
- Promote wellness initiatives and illness prevention throughout the school
- Respond quickly and appropriately to emergencies or injuries
- Educate students and staff on health topics and disease prevention
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student health needs and plans
