Job Description

A full-semester contract opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse to provide dedicated 1:1 student support in a school setting in Andover, MN. This role involves onsite nursing care for a medically fragile pediatric student requiring specialized tracheostomy and respiratory support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to a student with complex medical needs, including tracheostomy, ventilator support, J-tube feedings, and ostomy care.
  • Manage daily continuous G-J tube feedings and administer nasally delivered seizure medication as necessary.
  • Monitor respiratory status and utilize a nebulizer for respiratory care.
  • Perform ostomy bag changes as needed and manage oxygen therapy.
  • Collaborate with school staff to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies, including seizure and adrenal insufficiency events.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed health records in compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

  • Active Minnesota Registered Nurse (RN) license is mandatory.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification required.
  • Proven experience in tracheostomy care.
  • Pediatric nursing experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work a consistent schedule of 31 hours per week during the school semester.
