Job Description

Provide specialized support to a middle school student with mild to moderate disabilities, focusing on empowering communication and self-advocacy skills. This full-time contract opportunity is based in Andover, MN, designed for professionals certified in Teaching Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) in Pennsylvania.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach self-advocacy, expressive and receptive language, vocabulary, listening, transition skills, and use of hearing assistive technology tailored to student needs.
  • Evaluate academic and behavioral progress to monitor and adjust instructional strategies.
  • Collaborate in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students requiring special education support.
  • Utilize situational approaches and data-driven methods to optimize student outcomes.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current TDHH certification valid in Pennsylvania is required.
  • Experience working with students with mild to moderate hearing impairments or related disabilities.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and adaptive teaching skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in collaboration with school staff and families.

Contract Details:

  • Location: Andover, MN (Middle School setting)
  • Duration: Contract School Year (CSY), starting ASAP through June 9, 2025
  • Caseload: One student with specialized support needs
  • Full-time hours
