Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students this summer as a Registered Nurse (RN) in a school health room setting. You'll provide compassionate care and vital health services for an Extended School Year (ESY) program, fostering a safe and healthy environment for both students and staff.
This position runs from July 6 through August 14, with your workday scheduled from 8:15 am to 3:15 pm. You'll be based in one health room, allowing you to focus on delivering focused and consistent care. Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid New York RN license required
- Previous experience as a school nurse or RN desired, especially in educational or pediatric settings
- Ability to handle episodic care, medication administration, and routine health monitoring
- Skilled in communicating with students, families, and school personnel
- Organized, compassionate, and adaptable to diverse student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver daily nursing care to students, including first aid, managing chronic conditions, and handling medical emergencies
- Administer prescribed medications and maintain accurate health records
- Conduct health assessments and support classroom participation for students with medical needs
- Educate students and staff on health, hygiene, and safety topics
- Coordinate with teachers, parents, and healthcare providers to promote overall student well-being
- Ensure compliance with NY state health guidelines and school protocols
