Looking to make a meaningful impact as a Reading Specialist in a dynamic school environment? This full-time contract opportunity begins August 24, 2026 and runs through June 10, 2027, offering two exciting openings for dedicated professionals eager to help students thrive in reading and literacy skills. Bring your talents to either an elementary caseload or work across K-8, supporting students and collaborating closely with fellow educators.
Responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing lesson plans in alignment with current state and district standards, driving instruction with formative assessments and differentiated practice
- Utilizing mastery of reading instruction to provide targeted support, interventions, and enrichment opportunities for students in need
- Demonstrating strong classroom and behavior management, fostering a supportive and responsive learning environment
- Engaging in ongoing collaboration with teachers and support staff to elevate literacy outcomes
- Employing a wide range of resource materials and proven instructional strategies
- Communicating progress regularly with families and school teams
Preferred qualifications:
- Active and valid Pennsylvania reading specialist certification
- Demonstrated expertise in reading instruction and subject mastery
- Previous school-based experience, especially within urban settings
- Experience working directly with elementary and/or K-8 student populations
- Reliable transportation for onsite attendance and travel between locations if required
- Ability to successfully complete all Pennsylvania clearances
- Strong ability to adapt, manage classrooms, and address diverse learning and behavioral needs
This contract role offers 37.5 hours per week with the opportunity to provide transformative literacy support in a supportive and collaborative setting. Candidates will participate in a Zoom interview as part of the selection process.
