Step into a pivotal educational support role as a Reading Specialist, working full time in an impactful contract position for the upcoming academic year. Two exciting opportunities are available: one serving an elementary caseload and another supporting K-8 students. With a start date of August 24, 2026, and lasting through June 10, 2027, youll be an integral part of a dedicated educational team, delivering expert literacy interventions onsite.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Pennsylvania (PA) certification/licensure, with a Reading Specialist endorsement
- Previous school-based experience is essential
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and differentiating lesson plans aligned to state and district standards
- Proven mastery in related subject matter and effective instructional practice
- Experience working in urban school settings, and comfortable adapting to varied classroom environments
- Strong classroom and behavioral management skills
- Ability to complete all requisite PA clearances
- Reliable transportation for a consistent onsite presence
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality literacy instruction to students, tailored to individual and group needs across elementary or K-8 caseloads
- Design engaging, differentiated lesson plans that leverage formative assessment to guide and adjust teaching strategies
- Collaborate closely with teachers and staff to support student reading achievement
- Utilize resource materials to enhance instruction and address diverse learning styles
- Proactively manage classroom dynamics and foster a positive learning environment
